February 24th is World Read Aloud Day! Please consider making a special effort on this day to read aloud with your child. We at Weatherbee School are planning to incorporate it into our daily schedule. Please encourage your child to bring in a favorite book that they love to read aloud. Students have begun to think like researchers. They have selected a natural disaster or extreme weather topic and have begun to research that topic. As researchers we began by breaking the topic down into smaller parts. Then students assigned team mates to tackle each subtopic. Once the reading and researching began, I taught the students the different ways to take notes. You can see some examples of note taking and the slides from class below.
