Thank you so much for all of your generosity this week. Our P.T.O provided all of our staff with a nice little treat each day, as well as an amazing luncheon on Friday. WOW!!! Today, we used pictures and captions from the book The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Allsburg to make inferences. Check out the Vimeo below.
We began our Historical Fiction unit by with an introduction to the components to fiction text. We've learned that Historical Fiction text should have real dates, real places, and be based on real historical events. Although there may be a character that was a real person, the main characters are typically fictitious. Our mentor text is Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr.
